Drug deal was a prelude to 19-year-old's killing, Elk Grove police say

Late Wednesday, Elk Grove police traveled to rural Stanislaus County to arrest a drug dealer they suspect of shooting a 19-year-old man in the head outside a record store Sunday night.


Joseph Oropesa, 19, met his killer to buy drugs, according to a witness.


Ryan Hays carjacked his victim's SUV and then shot him, authorities say.  Read more...

2012 CCA Legislative Conference Features Governor Jerry Brown

The CCA legislative conference is being held in Sacramento, California and chiropractors as well as chiropractic students are urged to attend. Parker Seminars and the California Chiropractic Association annual convention was held in San Diego this past weekend and it was a spectacular event. As a chiropractor member of the CCA and a long time attendee at Parker Seminars, it's my opinion that the joined effort was a fabulous value for chiropractors. Sacto 911: Vigel, Bassett sentenced to life terms for Elk Grove murder

A Sacramento street gang member and his girlfriend were both sentenced to life terms without possibility of parole today for the shooting death of an innocent woman at a party in Elk Grove three years ago.

Elk Grove man arrested again in Vietnam

Nguyen Quoc Quan, an Elk Grove man who spent six months in Vietnamese prisons in late 2007 and 2008 for championing democracy, was rearrested when he returned to Vietnam April 17.
